A raised edge, memory foam core, and removable cover make the Casper Dog Bed a winner for pups who crave comfort.
I love my border collie mix, Bobby, more than almost anything. She’s my greatest joy — and my favourite shopping companion. It hasn’t always been easy on my wallet, but it’s turned both of us into pretty great judges of quality when it comes to dog products.
Now, my dog is no stranger to the finer things in life. She’s admittedly a bit spoiled — but as a rescue, she deserves every comfort the world has to offer. I have invested in puzzles to keep her mind sharp and her teeth off my stuff, toys galore, and a series of harnesses and leashes to keep her (and I) comfortable on walks. But dog beds are an entirely different beast. This girl loves to be cozy, and I don’t blame her. I take serious pride in my own sleep setup, and why shouldn’t she?
The rave reviews promised that the Casper Dog Bed was the best of the best, so naturally, she had to try it. Consider this her way of living in luxury and serving as the dog reviewer you never knew you needed.

My review of the Casper Dog Bed

The Casper Dog Bed arrived at my door as most ready-to-ship mattresses do, in a box. After an hour or two, it had fully expanded and was ready for my dog to test out.
Designed like Casper’s mattresses for humans, this is truly a premium option for pets. Its two-layer memory foam construction provides the ideal balance of plush softness and supportive cushioning for joints. It truly feels like a luxury mattress — only in a smaller, cozier size. And the raised edge is a major win, my dog loves using her toys to prop her head up, and this saves her from doing the construction herself. You know, because she already works hard enough, napping and lounging in the backyard.
The durable, machine-washable cover is also a winner for my dog. She likes denning (digging and burrowing) before she lies down, and the Casper Dog Bed hasn’t shown any signs of wear and tear. In the bed she had before this one, which was also quite expensive, she had created several notable scratches through the surface, so this one definitely seems better constructed. I will say, after reading reviews, some people note that their dogs have managed to rip through the cover, so just keep that in mind if your dog is particularly destructive. Or keep a sewing kit handy.

There are two potential downsides to discuss. Firstly, the cover isn’t the most durable. As I mentioned, my dog loves denning, and she hasn’t worn through it, but some reviewers found that their pets were able to rip through the cover. If your dog is the type to shred through soft toys and tear up blankets, you may want to look into other options. Secondly, it isn’t the cheapest dog bed out there, ringing it at $199.00 for the smallest size and $299.00 for the largest size. This is worth taking into consideration if you’re on a tight budget.
All in all, I think most dogs would love the Casper Dog Bed. It does cost more than the average dog bed, but in my opinion, you really do get what you pay for. It’s soft, supportive, and most importantly, my dog usually chooses to sleep in it instead of taking over half my bed.

Casper Dog Bed Cons
- Quite expensive

What are reviewers saying about the Casper Dog Bed?
Reviewers — and their pets — are loving the Casper Dog Bed. It has an average rating of 4.4 stars on Casper’s home site, and over 1,800 people have awarded it a 5-star rating. They love that the cover is washable, making cleanup easy when their pet has the inevitable accident or upset tummy, and say that it’s firm and comfortable enough for aging pups and those who suffer from arthritis. The downside? A handful of pet owners found that their dogs were able to bite or dig through the material, so it might not be the best option out there if your four-legged friend has a destructive streak.
