Setting up the Luxe Louise Silicone Keyboard Cover took less than five seconds. Since the cover I got was made specifically for Mac laptop keyboards, the escape key on the top left side didn’t perfectly line up with all the keys on my Apple Magic Keyboard. While the cover matched all of the alphanumeric keys (letters and numbers), modifier keys (shift, control, alt), and navigation keys (enter, spacebar, tab, delete), it didn’t cover the function keys on the very top row. The pad for the escape key on the cover was also much smaller than the actual key on my keyboard, so I quickly snipped it off for a better fit. Because I don’t really use the escape key often, it hasn’t impacted my use of the cover or keyboard at all.

It felt so nice to be able to type with my fingertips again. Because the elevated pads are high enough off the keyboard, my nails don’t hit the body of the keyboard when I’m typing. This means I’m not pressing on more keys than I need to, and I can type at my regular speed.
I also love that it keeps my keyboard covered, so in instances where there’s a rogue splash from my water bottle, or a snack crumb finds its way onto my keyboard, it’s not going to break. And since it’s made of soft and flexible silicone, it’s easy to peel off, shake out, wash, and disinfect, which gets bonus points from me. I will also note that it never feels slick or greasy, which is great.
The drawbacks of the Luxe Louise Silicone Keyboard Cover for Long Nails
In my opinion, the Luxe Louise Silicone Keyboard Cover is near-perfect. The keypads are sturdy and comfortable, and I love that it protects my keyboard from spills and dust. Its only drawbacks are that the heart-shaped keypads are a little smaller than the keys themselves, so it takes a little adjusting, and as I previously stated, it wasn’t an exact match for my specific Mac keyboard model, but it was close enough that with a quick modification, I was able to make it work.
