Tea has been my hot beverage of choice for years. My experience using the Cosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle with Temperature Control
As soon as I unboxed the Cosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle, I noticed how lightweight it was. I flipped through the instruction booklet and followed the steps for completing a water test before I could make my first cup of tea. I just had to fill the kettle with water to the max fill line, turn it on, and then press the button for the highest boil setting. It took a few minutes for it to come to a boil before it beeped a few times and shut off. Once it cooled, I emptied the water into the sink and rinsed it with cool water three times.
The kettle has five heat settings on the base, so I chose the one closest to what my tea called for and let it boil. It beeped a few times to signal it was done, but didn’t roar and whistle like the kettles I was used to. I poured it into my mug, noticing that the gooseneck spout made the process incredibly easy and mess-free. There were no drops or dribbles around my counter.
The water was the perfect temperature to steep my tea, and I didn’t have to wait 30 minutes to take a sip without burning my mouth. I also noticed that my tea actually tasted different. It was more flavourful and enjoyable to sip on, probably because the water wasn’t too hot.
Since using it almost daily, I have a few more important (and wonderful) takeaways.
I love that the kettle has a “Hold Temperature” button I can press to keep the water at the temperature I choose for up to an hour, meaning if I get sidetracked for a little bit, I won’t have to re-boil my water. It also looks incredibly sleek and stylish, so I don’t mind keeping it out on the counter.
I’m also a fan of the safety features. It stops itself from boiling if the kettle is taken off the base, and automatically shuts off when it’s brought up to a boil. It also has boil-dry protection, so it won’t even heat up if there isn’t enough water in it.
The instruction manual also had a bunch of great tips for cleaning, descaling, tightening the lid, boiling water for pour-over coffee, and temperature conversions for customers living at high altitudes.
The drawbacks of the Cosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle with Temperature Control
The Cosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle is great, but even the best products have a few flaws. The first is the temperature settings, of which there are only five. White tea (170°F), green tea (180°F), oolong tea (195°F), coffee (205°F), and boil/black coffee (212°F). A lot of my teas call for water outside of these exact temperatures, so I just have to choose the closest option. Though it’s not a make-or-break for me, I know more particular people, especially when it comes to ceremonial-grade teas and matchas, who might want a kettle that offers custom temperature settings.
Secondly, the alert isn’t very loud. That means you won’t want to stray far while boiling.
It is also worth noting that the lid gets very hot after the water is boiled. It does have a warning printed on it to remind you not to touch it, and it sits snuggly in the kettle, so you don’t need to touch it when pouring, but if you’re used to holding a teapot or kettle like that, you should keep that in mind.

All in all, I think the Cosori Electric Gooseneck Kettle is a great little kettle. It’s stylish and looks great on my coffee station, and I like the temperature control settings. Since I’m not too precious about my teas (I was apparently drinking scorched, bitter tea for years), this is a very welcome upgrade to my kitchen. I know I will use this for years to come, whether I’m making my evening peppermint tea or something more extravagant like a tea latte or matcha.
