Since entering my thirties, I’ve made sleep a real priority. My experience using the Squishmallows SquishPillow Medium Density Pillow
The thing I love most about sleeping on Squishmallow stuffies is that they support my neck and head while still giving me that lying-on-a-cloud feeling. SquishPillows mimic that, but they also give you options when it comes to density, with three levels of support to choose from. I went with the medium density because I know I sleep best with a little bit of structure. They also come in a soft density for those who prefer a really soft pillow and a firm density for sleepers who like a lot of support under their head and neck.
My pillow came completely flat and vacuum-sealed. After freeing it with some scissors, it expanded, reaching peak fluff in about 10 minutes. I gave it a quick squeeze, and it felt just like the stuffed animals I know and love, just double the size and pillow-shaped, so I knew that sleeping on it would be a dream.
My suspicions were correct. The first few nights I slept with it, I felt like my sleep was deeper, and I actually ended up snoozing through my alarm (oops!). Whether my head is resting on it or I’m hugging it, I’m guaranteed to get a good rest.
SquishPillows are super squishy regardless of density level, and because they’re filled with a fluffy down alternative, they bounce back faster than feathers would, which helps them feel supportive. The pillow is also covered in cotton, which makes it breathable, meaning I never feel like I’m overheating when I’m snoozing on it (no sweaty heads or necks here!).
Aside from that signature squish, the pillowcase is a real standout feature. It feels the same as the Squishmallow stuffed animals. The pillows come with a set of standard white pillowcases, but SquishPillow also has cases with fun designs, if you want something a little bolder. I also love that since the pillow is a standard size, it fits perfectly into the pillowcases I already own that match my bedding, so I can have a more cohesive look when I want to.
Are the Squishmallows SquishPillow Medium Density Pillows worth it?
I definitely think so! As a solo sleeper, I don’t mind having a whimsical plushie on my bed, but the SquishPillow has afforded me the same comfort with a slightly more mature look. I’ve been recommending them to all of my friends and family.
