When I first heard the term electric shovel, I wondered if I’d heard correctly… I’ll admit I had a hard time picturing what it actually was.

With winter in full swing, it was finally the perfect time to try out this invention. So I put the Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel to the test. It’s powered by two rechargeable 20V batteries.

The box that arrived at my house was medium-sized since the parts came disassembled.

Here’s what the product looks like when you take it out of the box.

How long do the batteries need to charge?

The batteries charge fairly quickly. For my first use, it took about 40 minutes to get both batteries fully charged.

Most of the models available on the market come with two batteries — something you should look for to get more power.

How do you assemble the Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel?

I have to admit, assembling it was super easy! It took me a solid 5 minutes without even needing the instruction manual. Here’s what it looks like once it’s put together. This model weighs about 20 pounds.

The weight of the Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel is an important factor if you have less arm or upper-body strength. With the batteries installed, the overall weight is significant.

Even though you don’t have to lift the shovel and simply push it, the resistance of the snow still requires some strength. And even if you’re not doing the traditional shovelling motion, you’re still putting in a minimum amount of physical effort while using it.

How does it work?

Since the snow took its time falling this year, I was eagerly waiting for the first real snowfall to try the Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel.

Once you’re in the area you want to clear, you simply press the safety button while squeezing the handle continuously to keep the motor running. It works on the same principle as a snow blower, but smaller, and without any forward speed. You have to use your body strength to push the shovel through the snow.

You can direct the blown snow in the direction you want. You change the direction manually using a handle that is easy to adjust.

The snowfall I tested it on was about 15 centimetres. However, when I reached sections higher than that, the motor struggled and simply stopped.

Ideally, you should use it on snow about 10 to 15 centimetres deep and still light. If the snow is hard and packed after freezing, I think it would be difficult.

My thoughts on the Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel

Overall, the product works very well. However, if you reach areas where the surface changes or where the asphalt is uneven, it sometimes slows down the movement. You then have to back up and try again.

Also, with the batteries installed, the weight is still much heavier than a regular shovel. You’ll reduce the risk of back injury from repeated shovelling motions, which is a real concern.

However, you still need to use your lower back and body weight to push and move the shovel. This isn’t an issue for someone active and in good shape—my son actually had a blast clearing around the pool. Someone physically weaker might find the product harder to handle.

Also, since the handle isn’t very long, shorter people will have an easier time finding the ideal shovelling angle. My son actually found it easier for himself.

Do I recommend it?

Absolutely—I recommend Enhulk Electric Snow Shovel if you want to reduce your shovelling time.

However, it’s ideally suited for small to medium-sized flat surfaces. For example, a two-car driveway or making a path through the yard to the hot tub. As for stairs, a regular shovel will be faster and more practical. And for very large driveways, a snow blower will make the job much easier and more efficient. And don’t forget you’ll need a safe place to store it (garage or shed).

The battery power is also impressive. The snow is thrown about 12 to 20 feet, allowing you to clear the area well. Battery life is listed at about 25 minutes, which matches the time I tested it with no issues.

If you’re a very tall person, the handle length may feel short. You’ll need to bend a lot to find the right angle and push, which will strain your lower back. In my opinion, this is the main point that could be improved.
