I Tried This Viral Canadian Dupe Of A Popular High-End Hair Styling Product, And I’m Sold

I can’t believe the results I got for under $15.

I recently discovered that I have a bit of wavy texture to my hair, so it gets a little frizzy in the summer months. Although I like to let my hair dry naturally as much as possible when it’s hot out, sometimes you just need a good blowout to get that sleek and silky look.

Since I don’t use hot tools on my hair that often, I like to use budget-friendly products when I do choose to style. To get a smooth finish on my mane, I know the products I use need to offer frizz prevention for hot and humid days.

Canadian hair care brand Marc Anthony came to the rescue with their new Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout Spray, which beauty experts and influencers have been saying is a great budget-friendly dupe for the Color Wow Dream Coat spray. With high hopes, I added it to my cart and tested it out. The results truly impressed me.

My experience using the Marc Anthony Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout Spray

Since I am not a stranger to the magic of the at-home blowout, I knew that to give this product the best chance at doing what I wanted, I needed to start with damp (not wet) hair. So, I let my freshly washed hair dry in a microfibre towel for about 30 minutes before generously spraying it with the product.

Once I made sure each layer was given a spray, I brushed it through and let it sit for a few minutes. I divided my hair into sections and started from the bottom. To dry my hair, I used my Shark FlexStyle with the round brush attachment, but this will work just as well with a regular round brush and dryer. It only took a few passes with the brush to see the results of the spray. I continued until my whole head was dried and my tresses were bouncy and full of shine. My hair was soft, sleek, super smooth, and fully done in under 10 minutes.

It’s important to note that my hair has never been chemically treated or coloured, and my hair is medium density with a slight wave, so results will vary based on the thickness, condition, and texture of the hair. I have tried the cult-favourite Color Wow spray, and the results of the Marc Anthony Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout Spray are almost identical, at least when it comes to my hair.

How did it hold up?

I went about my day, marvelling at how smooth my hair was every time I passed a reflective surface. I sat outside and walked my dog, but the true test came when it was time to sleep on it. By the next day, aside from a few kinks caused by my scrunchie, my hair was still soft and smooth.

The spray claims to keep your strands sleek for up to 72 hours, and I think if your hair is anything like mine, it delivers on that promise. I think anyone with curlier or thicker hair might only have lasting results for 24 to 48 hours.

I was really impressed with how the Marc Anthony Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout Spray worked with my hair. This is definitely going to be a part of my regular heat styling routine, and for a price under $15, you can’t go wrong trying it for yourself.

What are reviewers saying?

With an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars, reviewers love the Marc Anthony Grow Long Anti-Frizz Shield Ultimate Blowout spray as much as I do. They say their hair never feels weighed down by the product and appreciate that the results can last them days, even in hot and humid weather. Others rave about how shiny it made their hair and enjoyed the light, sweet scent it has.
