Our skin is constantly exposed to external stressors — pollution, stress, fatigue, hormonal changes, and more. Over time, it loses its glow, becomes less firm, and is more prone to imperfections.

Curious to see whether a skincare device could actually make a difference, I tested the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand for several weeks. With six neon and argon glass applicators, it promises to firm the skin, treat acne and redness, and boost the effectiveness of serums and creams. Here’s my honest opinion and the results I observed.
NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand Features
The NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand uses high-frequency technology, a method commonly used in esthetics to safely and naturally stimulate the skin. The device relies on two gases — argon and neon — contained in its glass tubes. Each gas serves a specific purpose:
- Neon is mainly used for inflamed areas or blemishes, offering a soothing and stimulating effect on the skin’s surface cells.
- Argon is geared toward firming, revitalizing, and targeting wrinkles by boosting oxygenation and local circulation.
The wand comes with six glass applicators, each with a specific shape and function:
- Mushroom tube (neon): ideal for small areas of the face and for treating blemishes.
- Y-shaped tube (neon): designed to follow the contours of the neck and arms, offering broader and more precise coverage.

- Comb tube (neon + tungsten): intended for the scalp to stimulate circulation and energize the hair.
- Tongue tube (argon): perfect for targeted firming.
- Spot tube (argon): precise targeting for wrinkles or problem areas.
- Rod tube (argon + tungsten): for larger zones such as the back or legs.

How does the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand work?
High-frequency technology generates enriched oxygen that provides antibacterial benefits while gently warming the skin’s tissues. This process stimulates circulation, promotes detoxification, tightens pores, and helps reduce signs of aging, acne, redness, and even rosacea.

To use it, gently insert the desired wand while the device is turned off. Then turn it on and select your preferred intensity. A few times, I had to adjust or rotate the tubes a bit to ensure proper contact. Since the gases are invisible, my photos had to be taken in low lighting.
How often should you use it?
NuDerma recommends using the device every other day as part of your routine. Consistency is key: even with just two sessions a week, many notice an improvement in skin texture and appearance (and hair health when used on the scalp).

Results and benefits of the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand
After a few uses of the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand, my skin looks more radiant and clear, but regularity remains essential for lasting results. With consistent treatments, the effects come close to what you’d get from a professional spa facial — done in the comfort of your home.
- Each applicator targets a specific concern (acne, wrinkles, firmness, redness, etc.), making the treatment both complete and customizable.
- You may notice a slight ozone smell during use — totally normal with high-frequency devices.
- After each session, there’s a subtle tingling sensation, which is a sign that circulation has been activated. This is also the perfect time to apply your favourite serums, as the skin absorbs products more effectively afterward.
In this photo, taken right after a treatment, you can see the pink, toned appearance of my skin — a clear sign that circulation has been stimulated.

The drawbacks of the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand
The main thing to watch out for with the NuDerma is the fragility of the glass tubes. They need to be handled carefully, as a small bump can be enough to damage them.
Also, even though each session lasts only a few minutes, the prep time (taking out the device, installing the right tube, cleaning it after use) does add up. This makes it harder to stick to a consistent routine every 2–3 days, which is essential for visible, long-lasting results.
Finally, because the tubes are delicate, I prefer storing them in the original box. However, the box is bulky and not very convenient. This isn’t a device you’d bring on a trip or to the cottage — it’s simply too fragile.
Do I recommend it?
I recommend the NuDerma Professional Skin Therapy Wand to anyone who takes their skincare routine seriously and has the discipline to use it consistently. The results are real, but they require commitment: this device isn’t a miracle solution, but rather an investment in consistency and patience.
If you enjoy taking time to pamper your skin and want an effective alternative to expensive spa treatments, it will certainly earn its place in your beauty routine.
For those who lack time or prefer something simpler, I’d suggest a more portable device. It also delivers visible results (though with slightly less precision in smaller areas). Easier to use and travel-friendly, portable options offer a practical way to enjoy the benefits of this technology without the more involved setup required by NuDerma.
